Ideas and tips for colouring Sonic
To colour this drawing and do justice to our hero, here is a detailed guide:Sonic, the protagonist:
Electric Blue: Sonic’s main color is a vibrant blue. Use a cobalt blue or electric blue for his body and spines. Press harder along the edges and in shaded areas to create depth. Peach Skin: The skin on his muzzle, belly, and the insides of his ears is a peach or light beige shade. You can use a flesh-colored pencil for these parts. Intense Green Eyes: Sonic’s eyes are emerald green or bright lime green. Color the iris with this shade, leaving a small white circle in the center to show the shine. Nose and Nape Spines: Sonic’s nose is black. The spines on the back of his neck, just below his main blue quills, are also peach-colored.Outfit and accessories:
Red and White Shoes: His iconic shoes are bright red. Use a deep red for the body of the shoe and pure white or very light gray for the stripes and sole. Yellow or gold buckles add an extra detail. White Socks: Sonic’s socks are white. You can use a very light gray for the shadows to give them shape. White Gloves: Like the socks, his gloves are white. Use a pale gray for the folds and shadows. Background and speed effects:
Speed Trail: Sonic leaves a trail of speed behind him. Use shades of light blue, white, and gray to create a sense of motion. You can blend the colors to make them look like they’re moving. Rock or Crystal Fragments: The objects Sonic is breaking through can be colored in shades of gray, white, and pale blue to mimic crystal or structural fragments. Add touches of bright white for highlights. The Tunnel: The lines of the tunnel or structure Sonic is running through can be dark gray or black. Color the parts that reflect light with a lighter gray, and use dark gray or black for the shadows. This will give depth and a sense of speed.Extra tips:
Color Layers: Don’t press too hard with your pencil at first. It’s better to apply several light layers to achieve a uniform and vibrant color. Stroke Direction: Color in the direction of Sonic’s movement, following the lines already drawn in the background. This will enhance the sensation of speed. Shadows and Highlights: Observe where the shadows are on the drawing (for example, under Sonic’s chin or in the folds of his gloves) and apply a darker color in those areas. Leave the areas exposed to “light” lighter to create contrast.More colouring pages in the TV & cartoons category
