Baby Spider-Man designs are a fun way to introduce the web-slinger to the youngest fans. In recent years Marvel has created lots of kid-friendly versions of the hero, with big heads, wide eyes and stories about teamwork and helping others.
One of the best known is the preschool cartoon Spidey and His Amazing Friends, which premiered in 2021. In it, Peter Parker teams up with Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, three kids who suit up to solve problems around their city.
Spider-Man's powers borrow from real spiders. Many spiders can climb walls thanks to tiny hairs on their feet, and they spin silk that is surprisingly strong for its size. That silk helps them build webs, catch food and even travel through the air on the wind.
Spiders often get mistaken for insects, but they belong to a different group. Their bodies have two main parts, and most have eight eyes. They are helpful neighbors too, eating flies and mosquitoes in homes and gardens. So the next time you spot one in a corner, it may be helping out more than you think. Many families simply leave them alone to do their job.
