Christmas Minnie Mouse in a Santa hat and winter boots is one of the most popular holiday looks for this Disney star, who has been by Mickey Mouse's side for nearly a century.

Minnie made her debut in 1928, the same year as Mickey, in the short Steamboat Willie, one of the first cartoons with synchronized sound. Ever since, she has been Mickey's devoted sweetheart and one of the most recognizable characters in animation.

Her look has been updated over the decades, but her signature details never change: big round ears, a bow on her head, usually with polka dots, and oversized shoes. She is cheerful, kind and creative, and in many stories she sings, dances, bakes or plays music. Her best friend is Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow often joins their adventures.

Younger fans know Minnie from shows like Minnie's Bow-Toons, where she runs a bow shop with Daisy, as well as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Mickey and the Roadster Racers. During the holidays she shows up in festive specials, Christmas parades at the Disney parks and plenty of decorations, often dressed in red and white just like Mrs. Claus.
