Princess Peach Waters Her Garden

About this drawing

Princess Peach garden scenes show a gentle side of the Mushroom Kingdom's ruler. Peach first appeared in Mario's breakout 1985 adventure and has been one of the series' biggest stars ever since.

She lives in a castle surrounded by gardens and is looked after by the loyal Toads. Bowser has kidnapped her more times than anyone can count, but Peach is far from a princess who just waits to be saved.

In one classic game she was a playable character with a special move: she could float in the air for a few seconds using her dress. That same game had heroes pulling vegetables up from the ground to throw at enemies, which fits nicely with her love of gardening.

More recently Peach has headlined her own adventures, where she is the one rushing to rescue Mario and her kingdom. She also races karts, swings tennis rackets and hosts parties, proving she is as tough as she is kind. Whether she is tending flowers or leading the charge, Peach shows that a princess can be both gentle and brave. That is a big reason she remains one of the most popular characters in the whole series.
