About this drawing

Spider-Man motorcycle scenes are a rare sight, because the web-slinger hardly ever needs wheels. With his webs he can cross New York from end to end by swinging between buildings, skipping traffic jams and red lights.

The comics have handed him a vehicle now and then, though. The best known is the Spider-Mobile, a red and blue dune buggy that showed up in 1974. It was treated as a goofy publicity stunt inside the story, and it eventually ended up at the bottom of the river. Peter was not much of a driver anyway.

Motorcycles appear more often in video games and cartoons, usually when Spider-Man has to chase a villain down wide highways or through tunnels where there are no tall buildings to swing from. In open spaces like that, his webs are not much help.

Real motorcycles use an engine that turns the back wheel with a chain or belt. Riders need a special license and should always wear a helmet. Spider-Man, of course, still prefers his webs. They are faster, never get stuck in traffic and do not need a parking spot.
