Don't press too hard with your pencil so the shadow isn't too harsh. You can smudge the color a bit with your finger or a soft piece of paper.
• Highlights: You can leave some areas uncolored to make it look like the light is shining there. If you're using colored pencils, you can use a very light color or even white to add a touch of light to some spots.

Details: Now's the time for the smaller details. Draw flowers and color their petals with pretty colors. Carefully color the donkey's fur, using small, even strokes like you're drawing individual hairs. Little details make your drawing way more interesting!
