Color the blanket in soft shades like sky blue or pale pink.
Count how many hours you sleep and compare them with a puppy's.
Poodles come in toy, miniature and standard sizes, plus a medium size in some countries.
A poodle puppy like this one spends most of the day sleeping, and that is exactly what it needs. Puppies can sleep eighteen to twenty hours a day, spread out in lots of short naps between bursts of play, meals and exploring.
While they snooze, their bodies grow and their brains sort out everything they learned that day. A puppy that does not get enough rest can turn cranky, nip more and have trouble focusing, a lot like little kids when they are overtired.
To help a puppy rest well, give it a bed of its own in a quiet corner, away from noise and drafts. A soft blanket and a toy with a familiar smell help it feel safe, especially during the first nights after leaving its mother.
It is also important to respect a puppy's sleep. Do not wake it up to play or pick it up while it is dozing. If it twitches its paws, softly growls or trembles while asleep, there is no need to worry, because dogs dream too. As it grows, it will sleep fewer hours and mostly at night.
