Venom's movie series began in 2018 and grew into a trilogy.
Venom leaping into action shows off one of his most famous features: the huge white spider stretching across his chest and back. That emblem is a leftover from the time the symbiote was bonded to Spider-Man, when Peter wore a sleek black suit with a giant white spider.
The black suit first appeared in 1984, and readers liked it so much that Peter kept wearing a cloth version for a while, even after he got rid of the symbiote. It is still one of his most popular looks and shows up often in games and movies.
Venom's take on it is far wilder. Artists gave him a massive body, claws, a mouthful of jagged teeth and a long tongue, so he would be scary at first glance. The bright white spider against all that black makes him impossible to mistake for anyone else.
Venom started out as one of Spider-Man's worst enemies, but over the years the two have teamed up against bigger threats. Their rivalry is one of the most tangled and exciting relationships in Marvel comics. Fans still argue about which of them is cooler.
