About this drawing

Steve and a villager walking together show the friendly side of Minecraft. Villagers live in towns scattered across the world, complete with houses, crop fields and a bell in the square. You can spot them instantly by their big noses, bushy unibrows and permanently folded arms.

Each villager's job depends on the workstation block it claims. A lectern turns one into a librarian, a composter into a farmer, a grindstone into a weaponsmith and a brewing stand into a cleric. Their outfits change based on their profession and the biome they live in.

The best part is trading. Villagers swap useful items like enchanted books, tools, armor and food for emeralds, and they buy goods from players too. The more you trade, the better the deals they unlock.

They never speak, but their signature hmm sound is instantly recognizable to fans. Keeping them safe from zombies and pillagers falls to iron golems and to players like Steve, who earn the whole village's trust in return. Some players build entire trading halls just to shop with villagers, collecting the best enchanted books and tools in the game. Others simply enjoy watching them wander, work and gather at the bell each day.
