About this drawing

A Minecraft elephant is a fan creation, because the game has no elephants. Its biggest creatures are bosses like the Ender Dragon, nothing like a gentle gray giant, so anyone dreaming of one has to build it block by block.

Real elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. African elephants live on savannas and in forests, while Asian elephants are a bit smaller with rounder ears. Both are plant eaters and spend much of the day munching grass, leaves, bark and fruit.

An elephant's trunk is an amazing tool formed from its nose and upper lip. Packed with thousands of muscles, it lets elephants breathe, smell, drink, grab objects, greet each other and even spray themselves with water or dust. Flapping their huge ears helps them cool off.

Elephants live in family herds led by the oldest female, who remembers where to find water and food. Their size, tusks and trunk make them a perfect fit for a blocky drawing like this one. Sadly, many elephant populations are threatened, which is why protecting their habitat matters so much. Learning about them is a great first step.
