A giraffe's tongue is dark, somewhere between blue and purple.
A Minecraft giraffe is a fan design, since the game's savanna has no giraffes. Acacia trees grow there and llamas, horses and armadillos graze nearby, but plenty of players feel something is missing: a long neck peeking over the treetops.
In real life, the giraffe is the tallest animal on Earth. It lives on the savannas of Africa, and its neck lets it reach the highest acacia leaves, which it pulls off with a very long tongue that can work around the thorns.
Believe it or not, a giraffe's neck has the same number of bones as ours: seven. Each one is just much bigger. Its legs are extra long too, so to drink, a giraffe has to spread its front legs wide and lower its head carefully.
Every giraffe has its own unique spot pattern, a bit like a fingerprint. In this blocky version the spots have turned square, which makes the giraffe a perfect match for Minecraft style. Calves are born with a drop of about six feet, because mothers give birth standing up, and within an hour or so the baby giraffe is already on its feet.
